Karen comes to HTFC in Saskatoon with 15 years of technologist experience in landscape architecture projects, including the Academic Health Sciences E-Wing at the University of Saskatchewan campus, the new Saskatoon Police Service Headquarters, and the Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan Festival Site. She is an award-winning graduate of the Architectural and Building Technologies program at the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST), now Saskatchewan Polytechnic. Her first work-term placement was unexpectedly in a Saskatoon landscape architecture firm. She became intrigued by the combination of her love for plants and gardening with her passion for drafting and design.
Born and raised in Saskatoon, Karen is always eager to contribute her historical knowledge of the area. An AutoCAD specialist known for her attention to detail, she looks forward to expanding her scope of work at HTFC to assist with contract administration and develop new technology skills.
Away from work, you can find her happily doing yard work, tackling a tough crossword puzzle, watching CFL football, and plotting her next home-improvement project, ideally not at the same time. Karen is owned by her two stylish cats: Molly, the regal tortoiseshell, and Zinnia, the playful tabby. Together, they help her curate her collection of hats.
