HTFC Planners Chris and Katie went on a multi-day site visit with over thirty members of Sayisi Dene First Nation to confirm and reconnect with their territory at Little Duck Lake. The trip was conducted as a part of their Relocation Claim which includes an offer of land from the Province of Manitoba and the Government of Canada.
Construction continues at Upper Fort Garry Heritage Park. The limestone blocks and caps are now being installed for the plinths at the south end of the site. These demarcate the approximate locations of the original fort buildings. The foundations for the boardwalk are also in place. Click here to visit the Friends of Upper Fort Garry site.
